Why ULV
I was amazed by the competitive merit scholarship and the energy of the staff and faculty. As a San Diegan, La Verne’s distance gave me the perfect balance of independence while staying close to home. After a personal tragedy early in my freshman year, the community I built through my FLEX class became my strongest support system.
Favorite Event or Tradition at the University
I love the volleyball games because they’re fun and full of energy. I try to go to every home game during the season.
Favorite Place to Hang Out on Campus
My favorite spot is the Ludwick Center because the classrooms are lively, and the views are beautiful and calming. I also enjoy studying there because the staff and faculty always greet me warmly. Sometimes, I also head to the library for a quiet, productive space.
What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming student?
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. College is about finding lifelong friends, professional connections, and experiences that help you grow. All it takes is one “yes” to open the door to something amazing.
